It's not that you: Can't but many shellfish are high in triglycerides so would limit. Also fish oil is extremely helpful in lowering triglycerides in addition to avoiding sugars.

Suspect the cooking: Shellfish do contain cholesterol, but if prepared in a heart-healthy way , avoiding deep frying and saturated fats/butter etc probably will not significantly raise tg's. They do contain omega 3, however again in small amounts. (particularly crab) .
