Related or unrelated: Low back pain associated with leg pain is common , often associated with nerve compression in the lumbar spine. Calf swelling, if related, is usually related to reduced leg mobility. Numbness in hands as well as legs would not be caused only by nerve compression in your lower spine--so do you have two diseases or only one? See a neurologist.
