PT vs Physiatrist: They are different specialties. Both now have a doctorate. The physiatrist does longer training--first 4 yrs med school, then residency of 3-5 yrs.

Varies greatly: Physiatrists are doctors specialized in physical medicine. Plan on an undergraduate degree, medical school, and residency. Physiotherapists are non-physicians who use exercise, massage, and other modalities to treat patients. The course work is much less and varies by country and by individual.
