Difficult to say: I would need to know additional things, such as how big the spot is, what seems to bring it on, what makes it go away, how long before it goes away, how long till it returns, do you wear braces, retainers or dentures, among others, before i can begin to tease out what this red spot could be.

Not sure: Thast it disappears is better then if it didn't. Does it hurt? Do you do or have anything that can irritate your mouth such as a rough filling of something sharp. I don't thin k its something to woprry about but best to have it looked at.
