A member asked:

Are tremors common from epival/ depakote/ valproic acid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absolutely!: I rarely prescribe valproate as an initial anti-epileptic agent anymore (though i did years ago) since there are so many aeds (antiepileptic drugs) that just as well or better without causing so many side-effects. Tremor is one of the chief offenders. Tremor can occur even at "sub-therapeutic" blood levels.
