The eyes actually have a very pale blue iris color, and the absence of pigment in both ocular albinism and generalized albinism causes the red reflex from the retina to illuminate the iris, making the eyes appear pink in color. Often, affected persons with albinism have nystagmus ("wiggly eyes") and vision problems. All individuals with albinism can be evaluated by an eye doctor for glare control.
