Investigate problem: This may be a statement after the fact - but it's important that the "period pain be investigated if it hasnt- there is the possibility of things like fibroids, endometriosis and other problems. If it has been investigated - then often times hormonal regulation can help- this includes the different forms of birth control such as pills, shot ring or patch. You may benefit from not having a cycle.

Dysmenorrhea: Nsaid’s, ssri’s, hormone meds, otc meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise ; acupuncture are excellent for pms / period. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol ; salt. Get gyn eval to r/o underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or black cohosh with dr ok. Sipping chamomile can dissipate pain. Ginger helps w nausea.
