A member asked:

Why's the lower back so weak?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stress: The lower back has no skeletal support compared to the thoracic spine. So it must bear a great deal of weight and stress and still be able to flex without disturbing the multiple nerves that pass out through it. So it can be strained and damaged more easily than other parts of the spine.
