Blood test and biops: Conventional medicine diagnoses celiac disease based on a positive serum ttg IgA and a biopsy showing villious atrophy in the gut. However, some experts now agree that a trial off gluten that completely relieves symptoms in addition to positive hla celiac genes, dq2 and/or dq8 will also reveal those at high risk for having or going on to develop celiac disease or other autoimmune disease.

Get tested: You need to be consuming gluten daily for the three weeks before you test, but if you have celiac disease, blood tests will show high levels of tissue transglutaminase IgA. An intestinal biopsy could confirm tissue damage triggered by the antibodies generated by gluten exposure. You could have another form of intolerance, such as a simple food allergy to wheat, but this is different.

Yes: Gluten sensitivity can occur in anybody. Without knowing any symptoms, it is not possible to say.
