Block vs Re-entry?: The av node is the electrical connection between the upper chambers (atria) and the lower chambers (ventricles) there is av block (1st degree, 2nd degree - types i and ii, and 3rd degree) 1st degree is a just a slight delay in the time between the atria squeezing and the ventricle squeezing. 3rd degree is when the atria, that has the normal pacemaker doesn't send signals to the ventricles.
