Find the reason: Edema or swelling must have a cause. Understanding that cause and treating it will reduce the edema. Of importance is: where is the swelling, are there any food or medicinal allergies, bug bites, trauma etc? An md consult is warranted to diagnose the reason. If it is minor, so will the treatment be. If it is major and an important anatomic area, a short course of cortico-steroids may be used. Md!
