Not anymore: There have been no cases of Polio in US and there is nothing to worry about as long as the babies and children get immunized Vaccination against Polio needs to continue and we can not take any risk Vaccinate every one and keep Polio Free

Depends: If you live on in isolated area and plan never to have contact with anyone, you can ignore most of the contageous diseases passed by humans. If you live where someone from Ethiopia can fly into your country while they incubate the virus of polio, you might want to be immunized. Just because it is not seen in your neighborhood routinely does not mean you should ignore it.
