It all depends: If your tooth has no existing restoration on it and your bite is in good balance, then veneers would be recommended because of less tooth reduction. If your tooth has larger fillings and the tooth needs to have a stronger support, than a crown would be better in this case. This is a rule of thumb. Of course to get a more accurate anwser for your situation, see your dentist.

Porcelain: Better to get compared to what i'm not sure what you mean but porcelain veneers or crowns are very strong and esthetically pleasing to the eye. If you need a crown or veneer, porcelain is a very nice treatment option.

Veneers or crowns: It depends on the current condition of your teeth. If you have mostly heathy teeth with minor issues such as small cavities, dark color, minor spaces, crowding, chipping, veneers require much less tooth reduction and would be the more conservative option. However, if you have bigger problems such as large cavities, big fillings, or major chips, crowns may be the stronger, longer-lasting option.

Both: Veneers are more conservative treatment, with the same or better esthetic appearance. Less tooth reduction than crowns. However in some instances, there is insufficient tooth / enamel to support /retain veneers , and crowns are indicated. I have many patients who have both, some side by side. Important thet they be done at same time is you require both types of treatment.

It depends...: There are too many factors to consider when determining which is best. I would consider visiting with your dentist to make this determination for you specifically. There is no clear-cut answer.

Based on exam: Porcelain veneers are considered the first choice to improve your smile as is the most conservative approach (less or no tooth structure is removed), however, based on exam findings, porcelain crowns may be a better restoration is tooth/teeth on exam has large pre-existing fillings, decay, etc.

It depends.: Porcelain veneers are used more often for aesthetic reasons, which is to improve the appearance, shape, color, size or position of a tooth. A full crown is used primarily in cases of lack of structure and strength in a tooth. They can also be very aesthetic as in the case of front crowns. Every case is different and your dentist can advise you of your options.
