Lung nodules: Are very common, and most (>95%) are not cancer. The larger the nodule, the greater the probability of cancer. Its is quite common for lung nodules to be found on abdominal ct scans. The bottom of the lung and the top of the abdomen share some real estate, and abdominal cts are a common source of referrals to lung doctors that specialize in lung nodules.
