Insurance broker: Health insurance is not usually sold in "terms", such as one year or ten years. It is sold as a policy for an individual. The length of the "term" is dependent on the frequency of your premiums. If you pay the premiums quarterly, then your term is 3 months. The moment you stop paying, your insurance ceases. Be cautious of "pre-existing condition" clauses in the policy.
