Yes: If you have a propensity to break out in hives, then any "stressor" ("stress") will cause the hives to appear.

No: But it makes them worse and people with severe hives feel very stressed due to the constant itching.

Yes: Psychological/emotional stress has been recognized as a potential cause of hives. There are, however, numerous other potential causes of hives including potentially life-threatening allergic reactions, physical factors (heat, cold, pressure, etc) and underlying systemic illness or infection.
