Could diesel fumes cause scar tissue and fibrosis - if the diesel fumes are in the work environment?

No: Fumes from diesel do not cause scars. If the work area also contained asbestos, it would be the cause of scars. Diesel fumes can cause chronic cough and shortness of breath.

No: Not likely to in short term exposure. Fibrosis generally happens with long term, generally decades, of exposures to inciting factors, that can be of varied etiology.
