Magnesium: Natural calm magnesium drinks contain 325-350 mg magnesium citrate & carbonate along with various flavorings, in each serving. It appears generally safe when used in moderation. But if sensitive to magnesium you could get a loose stool effect. (mag citrate is also used to cleanse the bowel before GI procedures such as colonoscopies, etc).

In moderation: I agree with dr. Pappas. Doses of magnesium at 350 mg per day or less are safe for most adults. In some individuals stomach upset, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea can occur. Large doses can result in accumulation in the body and affect  heart rhythm, blood pressure, respiration and level of consciousness.
