PICA: Pica is characterized by an appetite for substances largely non-nutritive, such as ice cubes, clay, chalk, dirt, baking soda or sand pica is associated and actually one of the symptoms that can be found in patients with iron deficiency anemia. Pica is more commonly seen in women and children.

Yes: Desire to keep eating ice is associated with iron deficiency. Get your hemoglobin tested. It will not do any harm to start taking oral iron and multivitamins.
