Is 1000 mg of frolic acid too much for a woman who will try to conceive in a few months?

Folic acid dose: Women who are planning on conceiving should take 1mg (1000 mcg) of Folic Acid for the duration of their pregnancy to prevent neural tube defects. In high risk cases 4mg may be recommended during the first trimester.
