Not likely diabetic : Ha1c of 5.3 is in the non diabetic range. Why are you checking sugars so often? Yes, anxiety can raise blood sugar through the release of fight/flight hormones. Is your severe anxiety disorder being treated? If not please do so. See your doctor and/ or therapist for treatment. Stop worrying about diabetes or other diseases. You may have nosophobia in addition to your gad. Are you on an atypical?

Not diabetic: Your a1c is in the normal range. Your fasting sugar is mildly elevated but we don't use the values on the glucometer to make a diagnosis. You need the values from a lab draw. If they are also between 100-125, see your doc to discuss. You might then need an oral glucose tolerance test to break the tie. If the number is < 100 on lab draw, then no worries.
