We are all familiar : With tonsils, which are lymphnodes that guard the throat entrance. When enlarged, these demonstrate "lymphdenopathy." others drain along the muscle going from behind the ear to the collar bone, and enlarge in infections, but also can be infested with cancers of the head and neck: usually large, not always painful, some only seen on images.
