New mattress: Most people have a mattress that doesn't suit them. Usually too hard. If you sleep on your side get a softer mattress.

Time 4 a bed change: Most likely you have some weakness and spasm in the muscle area and laying on it/not moving much during the night can reduce the blood flow to that region causing the aching. If change of position quickly resolves the pain, it is likely so. Back strengthening/stretching, and range of motion exercise will help, along with a new bed? If not better in 2-3 wks, consult doc.
