What are pyrogens?any single mechanism of fever caused by pyrogens?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Resetting thermostat: There is more than one pyrogen and they affect the host defense cells in multiple ways to induce production of cytokines. Some of those cytokines act on the brain stem center that regulates body temperature and reset that thermostat to a higher level.
