When you're starting your period, does your cervix get harder or softer?

Unknown.: We would assume softer, due to increases in prostaglandins released during the cycle. The finding of slight dilation of the cervix represents some physical change that generally would be associated with softening but i'm not sure this would be a consistent finding in all women.
