How do you tell if your knee is fractured?

6 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

See an MD: It would be very difficult to diagnose a fractured knee without having x-rays first. Sometimes a fracture is obvious without x-rays, but not uncommonly, patients will think they simply "bruised" a bone or "sprained" a joint when in fact they have a fracture. In other words, if you think you may have a fracture, go get it checked out!

Xray: The only way to be certain for sure is to get an xray. See a doctor.
