See an MD: It would be very difficult to diagnose a fractured knee without having x-rays first. Sometimes a fracture is obvious without x-rays, but not uncommonly, patients will think they simply "bruised" a bone or "sprained" a joint when in fact they have a fracture. In other words, if you think you may have a fracture, go get it checked out!
