What are the causes of reticulocytosis?

Increased red cell: Production. Reticulocytes are newly minted red blood cells. Normally these account for 1-2% of the red cells. Reticulocyte count will increase during normal recovery from anemia, if red cells are hemolyzing for any reason, or if there is on going bleeding. If none of these items apply, please consult your doctor.
