Decision making: A number of factors exist here. What was the circumstance around the bite? Unprovoked? How is your dog behaving? Normally? Has the dog been previously vaccinated? Are you located in an area where rabies is found in raccoons etc? All this aside, any warm blooded animal can get rabies but mice, rats and squirrels are almost never rabid since they do not survive the bite that would transmit it.
