A member asked:

Pain in lat muscle, below armpit on my back, flares when extending arm overhead (i.e. tennis serve, throwing) is this rotator cuff injury?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Latisimus strain: This is best diagnosed with a hands on exam but sounds like your latisimus dorsi muscle is strained. Rotator cuff is often achy down the side of the deltoid, back of shoulder, or front of shoulder. But, it is possible. Get an examination to be specific.
