Abortion terminology: In medical terms, an abortion is the loss of a pregnancy prior to 20 weeks gestation. An induced or elective abortion is what most people think of when they hear the word abortion. In medical diagnostic terminology, a miscarriage is considered a spontaneous abortion. An incomplete abortion is a miscarriage that has begun, but not all of the pregnancy tissue has been expelled.

Our name: We call it that- it is what your body does, not what someone does. It means you had a pregnancy and the fetus died and the body expelled it. I am sorry - hope you are feeling better.
