As soon as no pain: If an adult has a broken hip, the fracture is usually in the upper part of the thigh bone. The orthopedic surgeon stabilizes the fracture with pins or rods, but it is done internally. Movement won't destabilize the fix, but there will be some pain at first. As long as the thighs and hips stay in a relaxed position, and the couple is lying side by side, mild sexual activity should not be a problem.
