Urinary tract infect: Increased frequency of urination can be a symptom of a urinary tract infection. You woul dneed to be tested by your doctor to determine if this is the case.

Voiding diary: Frequent urination defined as going to void more than 8 times per day has many reasons such as drinking too much fluids, bladder overactivity, response to diuretic drinks such as carbonated drinks, tea, coffee, alcohol, and bladder irritants such as nicotine and artificial sweetners. Keep track of these things and consult your physician. If you have symptoms of infection get checked soon.

Causes to consider: Uti is one of many causes of increased frequency, but this often has burning during urination, urgeny/nocturia, pelvic pressure/pain, change of color/odor of urine. Diabetes, overactive bladder, medications/diuretic, alcohol use, incontinence, interstitial cystitis, stroke/neurologic disease such as multiple sclerosis, are other causes to consider. If u have concerns, consult doc. Good luck.
