After eating a few spoons of ice cream, my tongue burns to the point of pain. what is this?:

Mixed signals?: Perhaps the taste buds on the tongue are sending mixed signals to the brain, so that the cold, creamy, and sweet sensations of ice cream are being interpreted as a burning sensation. A primary care doctor or an ENT doctor can examine the tongue to see if there is a problem such as ulcers on the tongue, loss of taste buds, tongue inflammation, tongue cancer, etc...
