Dryness or allergy: The most common cause of itching of the ear canal is dryness. If you are a q-tip user, the ear may be too clean. Sometimes mineral oil can relieve the dryness and soothe the itching. Itching may in rare cases be the result of allergy of the skin. But, if so, you should have other symptoms of allergy.
