Likely Infection: Often blood in the urine is part of an infection that will respond to antibiotics. However, it can also be due to other things such as bladder cancer and needs to be carefully evaluated. Sometimes it is necessary to see a urologist who may examine the inside of the bladder directly with a lighted tube [cystoscopy].

Blood in urine: If there is blood in the urine and nothing else abnormal, then blood is entering your urine in some way. Are there symptoms like burning with urine, flank pain, recent infection, etc? In females this is common with recent period. See your doctor for further follow up as this needs to be looked at in a clinical context to be sure everything is good.
