A member asked:

What are the true odds of having another seizure after being 15 years free since my teens having one people tell me 100 percent i take dilantin ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Seizure control: That is a hard to answer, because of many factors. What was the cause of the seizure? Were there more than one seizure events? Generally if someone has no seizures on medication for 2-5 years, it is reasonable to ask whether they need to continue medication. We usually do an eeg to look at current brain activity, carefully review history, and discuss a careful taper. See your neurologist.
