Seek a dermatologist: Hard to know without examining you. I would think this could be related to other topical treatments like benzoyl peroxide, retina-a, etc. Repeat sun exposure could also do that. There could be another dermatologic process going on as well. Since your reasonable treatments thus far haven't helped at all, i would start with your pcp or dermatologist.
