A member asked:

What are the symptoms of a yeast infection and do they eventually go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Itching: Itching is the most common symptom of a yeast infection. It typically goes away with an antifungal like Monistat or a store brand generic equivalent. Sometimes the vulva and vagina can become red and tender and painful. Discharge can be thick and cottage-cheesy, or it can be thin and white, the type and color of discharge doesn't always indicate a yeast infection, but itching and redness does.
