Abscess?: If your appendectomy was recent (past 2 weeks), you may have developed an abdominal abscess, or collection of pus, in your abdomen. Get a physical exam from your surgeon, and he may recommend ultrasound or ct scan if necessary, with some blood work.

Depends: How long ago was your surgery? If it was less than about 6-8 weeks ago, then contact your surgeon for evaluation to be sure an infection or abscess has not formed. If the surgery was a longer time ago, then there may be other possibilities & you would need to see your doctor for an examination.
