Yes and good luck...: Both of these medications can cause dry-mouth. To the best of my knowledge (i'm a dentist), there are no good alternatives for carb/levo (aka sinimet) and Gabapentin is often used for a lot of very specific uses as well. Talk to your doctor, but chances are any med they switch you to would have similar side effects. Your dentist can talk with you about how to prevent decay from dry mouth.

Medicines-dry mouth: There are at least 400 different medications that can cause dry mouth. I see many older patients who have dry mouth, as a result of the medications that they take. Biodentine is a very good over the counter product that can help with dry mouth symptoms. It comes in a gel, liquid, and toothpaste. Fluoride rinses are important to use, also, when you have dry mouth, to prevent cavities.
