About 1/10...: About 10% of the population will have a seizure in their lifetime. Epilepsy, defined as more than one seizure, is diagnosed in 1-3 % in the population. Grand mal seizures may be due to exposure/withdrawal of certain medications, toxins, fever (in children), illnesses (e.g. Encephalitis), head injury, or even low blood sugar, calcium, magnesium or sodium. Your doctor should evaluate soon!
