Why on Sinemet (carbidopa and levodopa)?: Perhaps it would help to re-ask the question with a bit more on why you started sinement, & why you want to get off it. Sinemet (carbidopa and levodopa) is a med for parkinson's symptoms. If you don't have parkinson's, then who put you on the med & why? If it is not clear to you, you can always feel free to call the office where you were seen & get your records-even if you have no doctor now. Send more info & we can help!

That depends: upon the reason that you are taking Sinemet, (carbidopa and levodopa) the dose you are taking, and the duration that you have been taking it. Discontinuing medication is usually safer and better tolerated if it is done in a slow stepwise manner. That is my slowly reducing the dosage.
