Do you have to put a splint on a sprained finger?

No but helpful : A simple finger sprain can heal without splinting, however, a splint can help provide greater support of the finger.

Can be helpfule: I would splint the affected finger to help decrease the swelling for 2-3 weeks. You should allow the symptoms to resolve before resuming sports or physical activities.
