Chronic cough...: ....Is disturbing , especially with smoking history. Thorough evaluation and analysis of the reasons behind chronicity of this cough is long in coming. My hope is that nothing serious will be found.

Asthma or copd: May be you have asthma or copd( if smoking) . You probably need an x-ray chest and a TB skin test because of chronicity of cough. See your doctor asap for treatment.
