My mother was taking arthritis meds for a few years then was recently taken off due to an ulcer, she started feeling stiffness all over her body, she can not move and was admitted to the hospital today...help!?

Yes: In the hospital, intravenous steroids can be given if warranted. There are many other medications that work on arthritis pain. It it depends entirely on the type of arthritis that she has. For example, rheumatoid arthritis has its own set of treatment as does osteoarthritis.

Rheumatology consult: This requires the expertise of your rheumatologist. It needs to clarify what kind of arthritis she has and what's the best way to treat her. Depending on diagnosis we have a lot of medications we can use in the face of an ulcer. Please have her see a rheumatologist.
