Carefully.: Your ureteral stent may have a tether: a thin string attached to the stent that protrudes out of the urethra. Pulling on this tether is how the urologist removes the stent. If you have a tether, be very careful that you or your partner do not pull on the string; it does not take much force to dislodge the stent. If you do not have a tether, there are no restrictions on sexual activity.
