Discuss with your Dr: A common reason for a seizure to occur is the abrupt discontinuation of a seizure med.When coming off such a med your physician should give you a basic plan that would let the tissue levels of the med gradually fall. Just get off: Many patients have no bad effect with abrupt discontinuation. Safer to slowly come off by decreasing about one fourth the dose each week then stop after one month. Both physical and psychological effects may be felt, but they will be of minimal clinical significance.
