A member asked:

Does the knee cartilage show up in a x-ray?

No: The x-ray only shows the bone but they can give you information about how much surface cartilage is present by looking at the space between the bones. To see cartilage in more detail, an MRI is needed. The meniscus cartilage on the other hand can only be seen on mri.
