Very slowly: Because of the poor blood flow in that area it can take awhile for it to heal. Prolotherapy can help this condition.

Sometimes: The joint usually needs to have surgery- it cannot be immobilized with a caste, so often surgery is needed. Sometimes people cannot have surgery and do ok.
