Should everyone over 50 take a baby aspirin?

No: Aspirin taken daily can be very beneficial in preventing heart attacks and strokes. However, not everyone should be on Aspirin therapy as there are medical conditions (ulcers, drug allergies, bleeding disorders, etc.) that could worsen with daily Aspirin use. In addition, there could be interactions with other medications. Discuss with your doctor before starting any Aspirin therapy.

No: There are a variety of conditions where a daily baby Aspirin might predispose one to significant bleeding problems. Check with your physician before taking anything long term.If it is strong enough to help it is strong enough to hurt sometimes.
